James Street, Melbourne VIC
James Street is the “forever” home of Rebeka Morgan from @buildhercollective and her partner John and their six children and reflects their love of mid-century design. The home uses lots of natural materials and allows plenty of natural light into their living areas which are all on the ground floor and lead out onto a cleverly designed courtyard. It’s a beautiful oasis hidden down the end of a lane behind an existing Edwardian Bayview Street Home in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs.

Like most clients, the decision to move towards Steel Windows versus Aluminium is a costly one but the results speak for themselves. The entire home centres around the materials used for the project being steel windows, recycled brick and terrazzo tiles.
